GateDetector Gate Installation Guide

This guide describes how to properly install the Gateways to form the Gate.

Note: the Gateways have a directional antenna, pointing in front of the gateway.

The Gateways should be intalled in a way to be albe to detect a transit of a person or of an asset through the gate.
For this reason, the signal between the Tag and the Gateway should not be obstructed.

In the following are described 3 possible Gate insallations, that allow a good transit detection.

1. Over a door

The first way of installing the gate is to track transits through a door (or an opening), having a height below 3.5 meters.
In this case the two gateways should be installed over the door, with the gateways installed back-to-back with respect to each other, pointing in opposite directions. If possible, the Gateways should slightly point the floor, tilting the gateways by approximately 45 degrees.

As soon as the person or the asset overcomes the second gateway the transit is signaled.

2. On the ceiling

This installation is suitable in case of transits along a coridor or hallway.
The gateways can be installed on the ceiling, facing the floor, at a distance of 2 - 3 meters between the gateways. This distance allows a proper transit signaling.

3. On the wall

This installation is suitable in case of transits along a coridor or hallway, where the ceiling is higher that 3.5 meters. In this case it is suggested to install the gateways on the wall, at a height that is approximately the same as the tag height.
Also here the distance between the Gateways should be 2 - 3 meters.
