bleenc

bleencĀ® is a proprietary localization platform developed by BlueUp (registered trademark, two patents pending) based on the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) standard.
bleenc combines Bluetooth real-time location and tracking capabilities with bidirectional communication.
With its low-energy wireless protocol, data encryption security features, flexible localization methods, and scalable architecture open to third-party BLE devices, bleenc sets a new performance standard for RTLS systems.

Features

Bidirectional Bidirectional communication The bidirectional wireless protocol, with reduced energy consumption, allows to transmit downlink data to the tags (commands, configurations, etc.).

Bluetooth Bluetooth compatible Ability to locate, track, and monitor any Bluetooth Low Energy device (tags, sensors), even third-party ones.

Location Scalable localization Native support for multiple localization levels: proximity, attendance and entry/exit control, area localization.

Real time Real-Time monitoring Allows to instantly monitor assets and people through real-time status detection (button, movement, falls, etc.).

Integration Integration HTTP/MQTT API-based architecture with secure communication for seamless and reliable integration with end applications.

Encryption Encrypted data Supports the highest level of data protection and system security through encryption and device authentication.

Architecture

  • The core of the location infrastructure is based on a backbone of BLE gateways.
This backbone provides real-time tracking and monitoring of bleenc tags and other BLE devices (tags, labels, sensors).
  • The location infrastructure can include an additional layer of BLE beacons for less-frequent location of bleenc tags with increased accuracy (e.g. room or workstation localization).
Beacon network is cable-free, offering maximum flexibility and low cost for installation.
  • Asset tags and wearable tags are wireless electronic devices applied to assets or worn by people to be tracked.
Tags are active devices, equipped with a battery, capable of scanning for nearby anchors and connecting to the mesh network to transmit unique identifier with location data and status information.
  • bleenc Software is the core of the system. It integrates Positioning Engine (PE), an advanced location tool based on trilateration and filtering, that allows to compute tag position from RSS information from each locator.
bleenc SW comes with an easy-to-use web-based user interface for project setup and management and offers a wide set of free-to-use APIs for HTTP and MQTT to interface the platform with external application software.
